Pavan Ongole is a venture investor, company advisor, and operator, managing a portfolio of technology startups through his firm Airi Capital. Pavan invests in his three home countries US, India and Japan.
Pavan is also a partner at MFV, an early stage deep tech VC fund in Silicon Valley, focused on Computing, Climate, Robotics, EV and AI.
Previously, Pavan was a Director at SoftBank CEO office investing in US and India. During his tenure as investment lead of SoftBank India joint venture he has originated, conducted due diligence and closed investments in AI, security, healthcare, telecom, messaging, mobility and eCommerce. Earlier in his career, Pavan held operational roles in Sales, Business Development and Coding working out of India, Hong Kong, Korea and Japan.
Pavan also mentors students, ed-tech and fem-tech entrepreneurs and participates as a volunteer alongside political associations to get citizens to vote in a bid to reboot American democracy. Pandemic led Pavan to dig deeper into US healthcare and gave a new impetus to fight the inequalities and inefficiencies in it with technology as the core part of a multimodal solution.
Pavan lives with Masako and their two daughters in the bay area, California. When not working to deal with aging Japan, reform US educational system, and provide access to water in India, Pavan is a west coast skier, tennis coach, ever recovering runner, average-proficiency board gamer, student of violin and ballet from his kids and dreams of flying a Cessna solo someday.
